Airfreight Clearance Coordinator – Brokerage Department
United Parcel Service (UPS) Mar ‘11 to Dec ‘14

• Receive shipping documentation from Team Supervisor for further review and expediting for clearance for both inbound and outbound shipments
• Upon review of documentation, proceed with checking of importer code validity and compliance on Dubai Trade
• Feed in key information on E-Mirsal 2 for clearance purposes
• Follow-up clearance and provide further documentation or consignee details if required by E-
• Educate customer on the documentation and clearance processes
• Ensure full compliance with local UAE laws and regulations
• Monitor any updates to customs clearance procedures and advise department supervisors and
managers accordingly
• Reduce clearance time whenever required based on urgency of shipment
• Proceed for customs inspection in case of notification by Customs
• Complete clearance formalities once approved and released by Customs Inspector
• Handover approved Bill of Entry to company driver to arrange for delivery
• Maintain jobfile with complete set of shipment documentation for invoicing purposes
• Communicate and coordinate shipment clearance with consignee, especially in case of customs
inspection by providing timely and accurate updates at all times
• Work closely with Accounts Dept. to ensure month-end billing and assist in any credit related
• Communicate with customers for any overdue payments
• Assisted Front Desk with the receiving and handover of packages to walk-in customers
• Develop existing customer business by promoting additional services
